With its mission to be a force for positive change in the world, Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) has firmly established its reputation over almost 50 years as one of Europe’s most international and innovative business schools.
With their Dean (Steef van de Velde) of 8 years leaving, RSM thought it was time to reflect upon the impact and changes that the university has had during his time in office. To do so, a series of interviews was taken of people heavily involved in the “force for positive change” movement. Here they told what this mission mean to them. The interviewed people ranged from professors, to a CEO.
As this video was not only intended to showcase RSM’s achievements for positive change but also be a personal farewell video for the Dean, a challenging balance had to be found. We believed it to be best to not directly mention the Dean throughout the video, but let his personal involvement be shown through visuals. The introduction was inspired by sport videos, showing different moments of an athlete in action, speeding up, and finally stopping at a portrait shot of the subject to bring the video back to a more intimate atmosphere.
